Job Description

The COUNTRY MANAGER Sudan implements the PCM strategy at country level in terms of commercial development, operational structure and financial results. The position is based at the PCM office in Khartoum, reports to the GME O&G operations manager and cooperates with the functional teams at cluster and group level.

 Key Responsibilities:

Operations

•    Monitor and supervise all contracts and operations (including sites services, logistics, warehouse, workshops and offices) in the country
•    Implement effective supply chain strategy, manage in-country stock and sourcing
•    Coordinate proper service & support to clients, ensure timely delivery, strong QHSE focus and service excellency
•    Cooperate closely and continuously with cluster operations, supply chain and QHSE managers
•    Oversee site activities and personnel, organizes mobilization/demobilization of personnel/equipment

Sales and Marketing

•    Cooperate closely and continuously with cluster sales and tender & project managers
•    Ensure efficient sales/forecast reporting
•    Support sales team in executing market/sales strategies and developing customers and market potential based on company strategy
•    Support sales team in developing new business opportunities and projects, coordinating AVL registration, assessing customer and local content requirements, assist tender activities (review, clarify tender/contractual terms, develop technically and commercially appropriate and competitive solutions, select equipment and
•    services based on company tools and systems, prepare and negotiate technical and commercial proposals and their tender deviations)
•    Develop (resp. support sales team in developing) and maintain strong customer base and relationships, ensure continuity of communication and support culture throughout the entire business cycle from the development stage to continuous operation
•    Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, potential customers, business partners, government institutions, local authorities and administration at working and top management level
•    Attend and support marketing activities (exhibitions, conferences, etc.)

Finance

•    P&L management
•    Monitor, control and optimize accounts receivables
•    Cooperate closely and continuously with the cluster financial controller
•    Ensure profitability of country operations
•    Propose, control and achieve order, revenue and cost budgets, investment programs and associated financing plans
•    Attend financial audits
•    Validate all cash transactions according to delegation of authority
•    Ensure optimum working capital performance (incl. monitoring, controlling and optimizing accounts receivables)
•    Coordinate and ensure proper and on-time finance and accounting activities and reporting (incl. sales/forecast reporting)

Legal Responsibility and Administration

•    Manage administration and risks of local entity and its operations
•    Ensure strict compliance of all PCM activities in Sudan with all PCM group and Sudanese regulations and laws
•    Manage collaboration with local 3rd party stakeholders (legal advisors, accountants, auditors, etc.)
•    Optimize operation efficiency and risk management

Human Resources

•    Staff all direct reporting functions with qualified and highly motivated people
•    Provide coaching, training and further necessary measures to develop skills continually (sales, product knowledge, field service, managerial, business skills, professional growth), enforce motivation and ensure retention of qualified employees
•    Ensure performance and target oriented working mode of employees (closed loop of target setting, continuous evaluation and feedback) .
•    Ensure a service and support culture
•    Implement group/cluster HR policies in compliance with Sudanese labor law and other regulations, and supervise HR processes (payroll, recruitment, leaves, etc.)
•    Coordinate and ensure proper and on-time HR reporting
 
QHSE

•    Supervise HSE and Quality process
•    Ensure proper implementation of PCM QHSE process and procedures
•    Be accountable for all health, safety and security matters of PCM employees mobilized in Sudan
•    Comply with all QHSE regulations in Sudan on clients’ sites and PCM premises
•    Ensure accurate and on-time documentation of production and quality control & records as well as QHSE reporting to cluster/group

Qualifications / Experience:

•    B.E. in Petroleum Engineering
•    Good knowledge of upstream and downstream operations, basic geological knowledge, understanding of reservoir properties, well constructions and surface layouts, good knowledge of EOR and the different ALS technologies, field experience
•    Min. 3 years’ experience with rotating equipment, API standards, mechanics, fluid dynamics, materials, engineering specifications
•    Min. 10 years experience as application, service, project and/or sales engineer in ALS manufacturing company or ALS service provider/operator or equivalent industries, preferably with PCP
